Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dustin van der Haar
Dustin is a Fulbright-Emory distinguished research chair, co-chair of the South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS) and Associate Professor at the University of Johannesburg who specialises in applied artificial intelligence (AI) to perceive humans. Dustin can solve text, signal and vision problems that matter by focusing on structural and behavioural representations across different data modalities. Dustin is the recipient of multiple awards, grants and publications nationally and internationally in pattern recognition, which encompasses the fields of biometrics, computer vision, medical image analysis, and sports AI.
